Description

Celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a special free performance of “Of the People” by the Visions Jazz Ensemble, presented by the Indiana Historical Society. This talented group of Indiana University graduates will perform jazz interpretations of 12 iconic American pieces spanning classical, folk, pop, patriotic, and spiritual traditions. Selections include a medley of “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “God Bless America,” “Country Roads,” “Coat of Many Colors,” “Deep River,” “Simple Gifts,” and themes from Dvořák’s New World Symphony.

This statewide concert series honors the nation’s heritage while showcasing jazz as a uniquely American art form—celebrating creativity, diversity, and the shared cultural spirit of the United States.
