Trained as a fine artist in textiles, I have been selling and exhibiting my fine art tapestries since 1983. As a full time studio artist, I have managed to be self-supporting, to raise a family, and to gain a national reputation as an artist. My artwork is in collections of important museums such as the Art Institute of Chicago, Minneapolis Institute of Arts, Cooper Hewitt National Design Museum/Smithsonian Institution, Archives of the Venice Biennale (Italy), Denver Art Museum, and Racine Art Museum, among others.
My primary activity is weaving fine art tapestries; however I enjoy designing textiles from printed fabrics (see Spoonflower: LFN Textiles) to rugs, kitchen linens, and bedding for companies such as Crate and Barrel. I also founded a business of designing and producing artist's ribbons, which I eventually sold to Renaissance Ribbons. And for fun, as well as to participate in a community project which is very important to me, I design and print dishtowels and other decorative housewares for the seasonal New Harmony Farmers and Artisans Market.
